Taylor Ramsdell grew up in Missouri, where he played competitive sports throughout his childhood. During high school, Taylor was Captain of his football team, and was voted “Most Inspirational Player “by his peers. After high school graduation, Taylor chose to stay close to home, and walk on as a “redshirt” freshman to the Division 1-AA football team at Missouri State University (SMSU at the time). In the beginning of his freshman year of college, Taylor came to the conclusion that his focus was no longer on football. He decided to transfer to Arizona State University for his sophomore year.
While going to college in Arizona, Taylor began his professional fitness training. In 2003, he became certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and began training clients in the gyms of their own apartment complexes. He then began training at some larger, franchised gyms in Scottsdale, (Pure Fitness and LA Fitness).
In the summer of 2004, he received his Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Arizona State University. He graduated Magna Cum Laude, with a GPA of 3.7.
Needing a change of pace, Taylor then moved to Kansas City, where he chose to work in construction for a year while deciding his next move. At the end of this year, Taylor wondered if a career as an attorney was in his future. He began law school, but he struggled to find the same passion for the study of law that he had felt during his other pursuits in life. It was then that Taylor decided to get back into fitness. He moved back to Missouri, and trained at an elite private training studio for a year.
It was at this point that “life” itself demanded some attention - sending Taylor to Minnesota, where he spent a couple of years strenuously focusing on his own life path; striving to learn much more about himself, and intentionally choosing the route he would take from this point. It was this hiatus from everyone and everything that Taylor needed to discover and to understand his true purpose – helping others. It was obvious to Taylor how he should do this. Bringing his methods of fitness into the lives of others had always been where Taylor had excelled, and had also been the one thing that Taylor had always been most passionate about. He was clearly reminded of this passion after training at a fitness center (Athletic Performance Inc.) in Minnesota. It got his blood pumping again for the industry. His eyes were opened.
He moved to Los Angeles in January of 2009, and began training clients out of the backyard of his rented guesthouse. He then found a small studio to rent for a few hours a day, and continued to build his clientele. After only a few months of continuous word-of-mouth advertising from his extremely happy clients, he stumbled across the building that is now Chain Fitness, and jumped on it. He turned that building into his dream studio. He made it just what he believed a private training studio should be.
Taylor’s hope is to be able to touch the lives of many; his passion is to bring them to that “next level” of their whole selves, surprising them by revealing how much they can actually achieve. Taylor is committed to excellence and to helping people surpass their goals. This commitment is easily felt by anyone who trains with him. Regardless if they have NEVER been inside a SINGLE gym, or if they are training at a professional level of athletics… Taylor Ramsdell can, will, and DOES take his clients beyond their goals.
Taylor sees success in his clients before they do… but seeing people surprise themselves is one of his favorite parts of the job. The feeling of successfully surpassing goals that were once seen as impossible… is felt not only by the client… but is also felt tremendously by Taylor Ramsdell. It is Taylor’s passion to see others succeed, and Taylor’s success directly mirrors the success of his clients.

Anyone has the capability to make a life change. Maria Martin is a testament to this.
After graduating college, Maria Martin worked as a Director of Photography on some of reality televisions top shows such as Fear Factor, The Bachelor and Top Chef. After 10 years in the entertainment industry, she had advanced herself to a prestigious job title and was traveling the globe.
Between jobs, Maria would hire some of Los Angeles’ top trainers to ensure that she stay in shape for her physically demanding job. Her interest in health and fitness began to flourish. Her love for strength training, cardiovascular conditioning, athletic competitions and Muay Thai kickboxing grew quickly. She began to see the direct correlation of her job performance in relation to her diet and exercise program. Carrying a 35 pound camera for 12 hours a day was much easier when she felt strong and energized.
Over time, she began to realize that her passion for camera work was fading and that her job was becoming less gratifying. Maria realized that doing what you love in life is key to success and fulfillment. She decided to take responsibility for her own happiness and pursue a new career in the field of her true passion...fitness.
The first step of any journey is sometimes the hardest, but with a little encouragement and support, no goal is unattainable. She takes pride in watching her clients achieve and surpass their expectations inside and outside the gym. Her favorite quote by Eleanor Roosevelt is this, “You must do the thing you think you cannot do.”
Success can be achieved when fitness and nutrition are in balance with an overall well being in both body and mind. Each component is equally essential. Maria Martin is certified through the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and is a member of the IDEA Health and Fitness Association. Through conferences, seminars and new certifications, she strives to stay on the cusp of what is current in the fitness and nutrition fields.
